Greetings!

Happy Holidays from CMNOVA! As the year ends, we are embarking on exciting times here at the museum. For the past month we've been working on finding a site for the museum, developing our programs and finding partners to join us at the museum. One of the most important things we've been working on is our Founders' Campaign! Launched quietly at the beginning of the month, the Founders' Campaign is picking up steam. We have also been working on updating our website to give you the latest news about CMNOVA - so stay posted! This past year has seen the quest for a children's museum in NOVA move forward and we are looking forward to making great strides in 2007!

If one of your New Year's resolutions is to volunteer for a great organization, CMNOVA could use your help! We are always looking for volunteers to help us in the office, so please contact us at info@cmnova.org.

From our family to yours, have a safe and happy holiday and New Year!

Make CMNOVA a Part of Your Holiday
 Every bit helps!

The holidays are a traditional time to give gifts to charity - with good reason. Not only do you help a deserving cause, you get immediate tax gratification: The gifts you give during the holiday season reduce the tax bill you must pay by April 15th. Please keep the Children's Museum of Northern Virginia in mind during this holiday season and help us in making a children's museum in Northern Virginia a reality!

 Founders' Campaign Begins!
 Gearing up for 2007

The Children's Museum of Northern Virginia is ecstatic to announce the opening of our Founders' Campaign and 2007 Constituent Letter Drive! The goal of these campaigns is twofold. We are trying to announce to our lawmakers like Representatives Davis, Moran and Wolf that a children's museum is a dire necessity in our region and will compliment the school curriculum while promoting fun science, math and engineering educational experiences. We are also trying to fund some of the necessary projects that go into starting our museum; for instance, our traveling exhibits that appear at community fairs and our presentation packets for developers.

Starting in January 2007, you will be able to access our constituent letter online and we're hoping for everyone's support in making our case to the legislature! Be on the lookout for our Founders' Campaign fliers online and in Washington Family Magazine!

Are you a member or the President of your child's PTA or PTO? If so, CMNOVA would love to provide you with our publicity information and information on our joint Founders' and Constituent Letter Campaigns! If you think the parents in your school would like to support the Children's Museum of Northern Virginia in acquiring a location and funding exhibits, please let us know and we will get the information you need to make a presentation at your next meeting!

The site selection committee is continuing the process of meeting with community supporters and evaluating potential site locations. We have received a very strong response to our initial requests for interest, with potential site owners located in Reston, Herndon, and Eastern Loudoun County. We are continuing to explore additional opportunities. We also have developed an initial model for the museum, which was prepared by Misha Bolkhovitinov of Firebird Design Studios. We are so excited to be moving forward with our project to provide YOU with a children's museum!

Until Next Year, Best Wishes from the Children's Museum of Northern Virginia
