LEO RYDZEWSKI, ESQ.
Leo Rydzewski is a Partner at Holland & Knight LLP, where he is
a litigator concentrating in the areas of real estate,
intellectual property, and media litigation.
Mr. Rydzewski has litigated a wide variety of real estate
matters, including landlord-tenant, title defense, eminent
domain, and right of first refusal disputes. He regularly
defends news media clients in defamation and invasion of privacy
actions, and in the intellectual property area, he has litigated
trademark, trade dress, copyright, and trade secret claims. Mr.
Rydzewski also has an active commercial litigation practice. Mr.
Rydzewski is a member of the Maryland, District of Columbia and
Florida bars, and is admitted to practice before the Supreme
Court of the United States, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals,
Court of Federal Claims, and various federal district courts
throughout the country.
Mr. Rydzewski was featured in an article appearing in the Summer
2001 edition of the Georgetown University Magazine for his pro
bono contributions to the legal profession, including his
litigation of the then-largest child welfare class action in the
nation involving children in the State of Florida's dependency
(foster care) and delinquency (juvenile justice) systems seeking
appropriate mental health services. He also was a 2002 recipient
of the Florida Bar President Pro Bono Service Award.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Rydzewski served as a law
clerk to the Honorable Federico A. Moreno, United States
District Judge for the Southern District of Florida. Before
entering law school, Mr. Rydzewski was an economist with the
United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics,
where he co-authored two articles that appeared in The Monthly
Labor Review.
Mr. Rydzewski earned his bachelors of arts in economics from
Georgetown University, and his juris doctor summa cum laude from
the Florida State University College of Law, where he served on
the Editorial Board of the Florida State University Law Review.
Mr. Rydzewski is the President of the Georgetown Club of
Metropolitan Washington D.C., a graduate of Leadership Fairfax,
and a member of the Barristers and the John Carroll Society. He
also serves on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Museum
of Northern Virginia.
Mr. Rydzewski lives with his wife in Annandale, Virginia. |
