CHRISTIANE LAVIN
Christiane Lavin is a journalist specializing in early childhood
development. She has extensive experience reporting and writing
articles about the cognitive, emotional, and social development
of children. Since 2002, she has written the “Behavior &
Development” column for CHILD, a national parenting magazine.
Ms. Lavin’s articles about parenting, relationships, and
psychology appear in a variety of leading consumer magazines,
including Redbook, Parents, Good Housekeeping, and Woman’s Day.
She has also served as the “Health Hotline Pregnancy” columnist
for SELF magazine and the “Kidbits” columnist for Sesame Street
Parents magazine.
Ms. Lavin launched her journalism career at McCall’s magazine as
an assistant editor before moving to Good Housekeeping magazine,
where she worked as a writer and editor for six years. During
her tenure, she helped to conceive and create a series of
articles on second-hand smoke that won Good Housekeeping the
American Association of Magazine Editors (ASME) National
Magazine Award, the highest honor for magazine journalism
(Personal Service category).
Ms. Lavin earned a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern
University’s Medill School of Journalism in Evanston, IL. She is
a member of the Junior League of Northern Virginia (JLNV) and
serves on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Museum of
Northern Virginia (CMNOVA).
She lives in McLean, VA, with her husband and four children. |
