BRENDA M. HYDE, CEO
Promoting and supporting families is something Brenda Hyde has
found to be both personally and professionally rewarding. It all
started in 1991 after Hyde became frustrated in her search for a
good shoe store for her young daughter. She soon realized that
the Washington metropolitan area lacked a good resource for busy
stay-at-home mothers as well as busy professional women with
children.
Thus, in 1992, Washington FAMILY Magazine was born in the
basement of Hyde’s home with a circulation of 18,000. Today,
with a monthly circulation of 100,000, Washington FAMILY
Magazine is the largest parenting publication in the
Mid-Atlantic region and the third largest in the United States.
Washington FAMILY Magazine has won many design awards and has
proven to be a showcase of resources, articles and information
to help parents raise their children in the hectic and sometimes
chaotic Washington region.
Hyde started a second publication, Jacksonville FAMILY Magazine,
which serves the Jacksonville, Florida region. FAMILY Magazine
will begin offering FAMILY Magazine Franchise Systems for the
magazine in September of 2006. Hyde also serves as the Chairman
of the Board for the Children’s Museum of Northern Virginia.
Finally, Hyde conducts regular speaking engagements, is active
in six local chambers of commerce, and is the mother of four
children. |
